Letter from the President
Welcome to the Gamma Zeta chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma! I hope you take time and explore all of what our website has to show you about what it’s like to be a KKG at UofA. You can learn about our Fraternity’s history and what it means to be a Kappa, our chapter officers, fundraising and philanthropy, how to sign up for Panhellenic recruitment, and more!
I am extremely proud to be a part of this organization. We put academic excellence and service at the forefront of our member experience while still having a great time with each other. Our members come from all different walks of life and backgrounds who contribute to a diverse and exciting group of women. We have members who participate in almost all major student organizations across campus such as clubs, honoraries, sports teams, and more. Together, our members volunteer thousands of hours of their time at many different local and national organizations outside of our own philanthropies. We have women who are involved in pushing for change not only on campus, but for our nation as well. I am continually shocked and motivated by the accomplishments that come from our members who each bring a unique presence to our chapter and to our campus as a whole. Coming together as one, our organization is filled with empowering, independent, compassionate, and inspiring young women who contribute to this sisterhood an unconditional love and support for one another as they each navigate this scary thing we call “adulthood” together.
Deciding to go through sorority recruitment, for me, was a very difficult decision. I wasn’t sure if I was going to have the time, or money, to fully immerse myself in the experience and get what I wanted most out of it. Now, entering my fourth year of college and sorority membership, I think back to the things Kappa has brought me that have positively shaped me and helped me grow into the person I am today, and how it has been more than worth it. Not only have I gained lifelong friends whose perspectives, experiences, and unwavering support have impacted me greatly, I have also gained life skills pertaining to my leadership, academics, drive, understanding of others, and many more that I know I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Joining a sorority and making the most of this experience has allowed me to blossom into a version of myself I never knew could exist.
I’m grateful for all of my time in Kappa Kappa Gamma and I’m so excited to see our chapter grow and excel even more this year. I hope you enjoy learning more about us and the amazing opportunities we have to offer! We are thankful to be a part of the University of Arizona, the Tucson community, and the Greek Life system.
