Letter from the President
Welcome to the Gamma Zeta chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma at the University of Arizona! I hope you take the time and explore all of what our website has to show you about what it’s like to be a Kappa at the University of Arizona! You can learn about our Fraternity’s history, what it means to be a Kappa, our chapter officers, fundraising and philanthropy, how to sign up for Panhellenic recruitment, and more!
I could not be more thankful and excited to serve as this year's Chapter President. I can not put into words how much Kappa has affected me and how valuable it has been to my overall college experience. Whether it is the lifelong friendships I have made or the invaluable leadership opportunities, this chapter has brought me so much. I can say with pure confidence that this chapter has provided me with some of the most transformative and memorable experiences of my life. The growth that the Gamma Zeta Chapter provides is unlike anything I have experienced and the best part is you get to experience it all alongside over 420 of your best friends.
I want to share how proud I am of everything that we have accomplished together. Whether it is winning Chapter of the Year or consistently holding the highest GPA, we cheer eachother on through it all. The members of the Gamma Zeta Chapter continue to show dedication, passion, and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of college life on our campus and beyond. Our chapter values—truth, optimism, respect, connection, knowledge, and trailblazing—serve as the guiding principles that shape our sisterhood. In our chapter, these values are not just words on paper, they are lived and embodied by our members.
Looking back at the past three years that I have spent at Kappa, I am eternally grateful for the sense of family that I have found here. These women have shaped me into who I am today and gave me the confidence to lead this chapter which is something I truly would have never done without them. This family builds each other up when one is down and makes a home built of strong women standing on promising values. Our chapter house is not just a physical structure; it is a place where bonds are forged, where everlasting memories are made, and lifelong friendships are formed. From the second I walked through the doors of Kappa, I knew I had found my home from the sense of relief that it gave me. I have been fortunate to live in the house for 3 years now, and it has truly changed my life. I could express my gratitude for this chapter over and over again, I will always thank the Gamma Zeta Chapter for making my college experience what it has been.
Gamma Zeta is so special and what truly sets us apart is the sense of belonging and comfort that is so hard to find. Coming to the University of Arizona from out of state and not knowing many people, I was so nervous as to how I would ever find a community or friend group like I had back home. Kappa took me in, gave me a big giant hug that I so needed, and has not stopped giving me that love since. Kappa proved to me it is not what you are doing, but it is who you are with. These women are the definition of loyalty and friendship and we truly can have fun doing anything as long as we are together. This sisterhood is vibrant and so full of love.
Again, I could talk about this chapter all day and the positive impact that it has left on me, but I will leave it at this, my college experience is forever enlightened and changed by my sisters here at Kappa Kappa Gamma. They have made me a better human and sister, through mistakes and heartbreaks I could not imagine a better group to be surrounded with. We are constantly growing with eachopther and we learn as a collective which is so important. We strive to make a difference not only within our community but the larger world as well. I hope you enjoy learning more about us and the amazing opportunities we have to offer! We are thankful to be a part of the University of Arizona, the Tucson community, and the Panhellenic community filled with thousands of amazing women.
Loyally,
Peyton Lothrop
