Reflections is a body image program that was introduced to University of Arizona Greek Life in 2011. The program consists of two, two-hour sessions lead by trained facilitators, like me! I have been a facilitator for two years now and have enjoyed every minute of it. The Reflections program promotes healthy ideals, reduce the use of “fat talk”, and over all helps women see themselves in a different light. By the end of the session, participants will have done a series of image and confidence boosting techniques to resist the urge to conform to societies thin ideal. Each session is different which also keeps things fun and refreshing. Women from all different chapters are able to relate and collaborate together on new ways to resist the thin ideal that is so dominant in today’s society.
Here at Kappa Kappa Gamma, we pride ourselves in Campus Involvement! We see the Greek community as one big family and we pride ourselves in our efforts to promote Panhellenic bonding. We love planning and participating in events with other clubs and chapters. Our typical sister-sorority events consist of, yoga, movies, crafts, and volunteering. We especially enjoy the semi-annual Chapter Swap. Chapter Swap is a campus involvement event where women from each chapter visit and participate in activities hosted at each house. This is a great way to interact with members of Greek life at a campus level. This semester, at Kappa Kappa Gamma we hosted a crafting session. It was great to bond with other Greek women!
