Letter from the President
Everyone says that being in a sorority is not for four years, but for life. Probably like many of you, I used to roll my eyes and laugh at this saying. I never thought that being apart of an organization, let alone a sorority, could create such a great impact on the rest of my life. That was until I joined Kappa Kappa Gamma. Starting college is a monumental transition for young men and women around the world. It is a time in your life that can be filled with the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. And yet, many say that these four years are the time in their life that shaped them the most. It is a time filled with obstacles, triumphs, friendships, successes, mistakes, and joy. It is the place where you find out who you are, what your purpose is, and what you want to accomplish in your life. It is a time when character is formed. The decision to join Greek Life here at the University of Arizona is a pivotal point in my college career. Being a part of Kappa Kappa Gamma has given boundless opportunities for lifelong friendships, academic success, philanthropic experiences, and so very much support and love along the way. This chapter has surrounded me with empowered and confident young women who help me—each and every day— to reach my potential, to love myself, to love those around me, and to live by the Kappa motto “Aspire to Be.”
I can barely put into words how humbled, honored, and grateful I am to represent this remarkable group of women. They are all ambitious, unique, well-rounded, selfless, and poised. Each young woman of Gamma Zeta empowers me, makes me laugh until I cry, makes me feel at home, and reminds me continuously what an amazing sisterhood we have. The unconditional love and support we have for one another, as both active members and alumni, is something so special to this chapter. Kappa Kappa Gamma is a union of women that fosters sisterhood, friendships, leadership, academic achievements, and philanthropic endeavors. The opportunities that have been given to me through my association with Kappa are some of the most priceless gifts I could have ever received. The memories we make here—together-- will truly last us a lifetime.
I encourage you to explore our website to learn more about Kappa Kappa Gamma’s history and the amazing opportunities our chapter has to offer. From all of us here at the Gamma Zeta Chapter, we are thankful to be a part of the University of Arizona, the Tucson community, and the Greek Life system.
